Nashta at Gupta’s

Image
You should start your day with a good breakfast. A tasty and healthy breakfast helps to start your day in a good mood. You tend to carry on the mood for the entire day. So the morning Nashta becomes very important. I come from a South Indian Family. So no prizes from guessing what would have been my regular breakfast. I have grown up eating Dosa and Idly. Occasionally we would have Upma. This has been my routine till I was 27. After 27, I stayed in a men’s hostel for two years. I stayed in Pune. My breakfast used to be Toast, Puri, Chapatti, Upma, Poha, Dosa or Idly. But since I used to eat in Hotels I always missed the home taste. Also healthiness was a key factor. Continuous hotel food is never healthy for you. Doctors tell you that you should never skip your breakfast and you should always have a healthy breakfast. When it comes to healthy breakfast many people prefer corn flakes or Oat meal. So Kellogg’s is a favorite for many families. Most people use Kellogg’s with

The most memorable day with my mother

In everyone’s life there are days when you feel really low. At that point of time you are really looking for motivation. You look for somebody who can listen to your feelings and console you. I remember one of those days which is still very fresh in my memory. It is a day which I recall every time when I feel low and I am looking for some motivation. It was the morning when the Chartered Accountancy results had come for my first attempt. I did not clear the exams. I felt really low. I thought all the efforts I had put in the last one year did not yield any result. Everyone in my surrounding was telling me that may be my efforts were not enough. My father was a brilliant student during his times. So his expectation for me were always high. His benchmark was really high. I never tried to achieve the results which he achieved. But I always looked up to him when it came to education. He was really good at it. I was working as an article clerk with his college friend. So I felt that I

My New Life in Chennai

Image
I started working when I was 24 years old. My first job was in Pune. I had moved to Pune after spending 13 years in Chennai. My first job in Pune earned me around 10,000 rupees per month. Pune was a cultural change for me after spending so much time in Chennai. But since I knew Hindi adjusting was slightly easier. The initial few years were tough. It was a BPO industry and I took some time to grow in my career. I spent around 7 years in Pune during which time my Salary only grew 2 times. I was not very thrilled with my career. I decided to come back to Chennai as my father was retiring. I wanted to be close to my parents. I got an offer in Chennai but it was as a Marketing Analyst role. People told me that I was literally stepping down the ladder in my career by moving from an Assistant Manager role to Marketing Analyst. But I wanted to take that risk and move ahead. I wanted to reshape my career. I decided to take that bold step and start a new life. I relocated to Chennai.

What makes by Baby Happy

Image
The most precious thing in the world is your baby’s smile. A parent would do whatever possible to make the baby laugh. It is easy to make a baby smile when it is in a happy mood or in a mood to play. But it is not that easy when the baby is crying. You will have to do all sort of things to make him smile. We try to sing for him first. We sing him his favorite rhymes. Sometimes I crawl like an Elephant and my wife makes him sit on my back. He loves the ride and would ask me not to stop and keep going. Even when I get tired and lie down he would laugh loud seeing me fall down. Well anything that keeps him happy is fine for me. When we show him his favorite toy he would rush towards us and would try to snatch it from our hands. We try to dodge him for a while and when finally he gets it in his hands it brings a big smile on his face.  Sometimes I would make loud noise of animals like tiger, dog and elephant and it would divert his attention suddenly towards me. He would

Be Optimistic – It helps

Human Being are the only species who have been blessed with Sixth sense. We can train our mind and decide how we want to be. We have the option to become an Optimist, Pessimist or Opportunist person. I strongly believe that being Optimist is the right way to approach life. Today’s life is full of uncertainty. We don’t know what is coming our way the next moment. In India we have seen all natural calamities. We have seen the Bhuj earthquake which shook the lives of thousands. We have seen Tsunami which took away a lot of lives. We have also seen Kedarnath and Kashmir being washed away by flash flood. Even after all these life continues. Even people who suffered in these situations have started to look ahead. At some point of time we think that there is no other option left than to move ahead. But we should not waste time before we decide to do so. We should move ahead immediately with a positive frame of mind that life will have something better in store for us. I have gone throug
