Opportunity you may miss

This post is a part of #WillYouShave activity at  BlogAdda  in association with  Gillette Its normal that most of us don't give much importance to a regular shave. I am one who used to think that way. It did not matter much till I entered into a corporate environment. I joined my first corporate job at the age of 24. I really never cared about regular shaving apart from the day I went for the interview. Well I guess I was wrong. We used to shave during client visits but I realised I was missing opportunities of growth now and then. My manager once told me that the senior management had a perception about me based on my unshaven looks. They thought I did not have a professional approach towards my job. Though I don't think thats a right way to judge a person at job but that's the way majority of corporate world works I guess. So its better to have a clean shaven look if you don't want to miss out on opportunities.

India growth update

I read this article today in Rediff.com about India's growth projection this quarter. So wanted to share with all of you. Hopefully it gives soem of us some hope amidst all this price rise and inflation. C redit rating agency Crisil Research on Thursday said it expects India Inc's revenues to grow 9-11 per cent in the quarter ended June 30, 2014 and 11-12 per cent growth for the entire fiscal year 2014-15. "We expects India Inc's revenues to grow 9-11 per cent in the quarter ended June 30, 2014, compared with 4.3 per cent in the same period last year and 8.4 per cent in the quarter ended March 31, 2014.  “For the entire fiscal year 2014-15, Crisil forecast Indian corporates to report 11-12 per cent revenue growth," Crisil said in a statement in Mumbai. This growth will largely be driven by strong growth in export-oriented sectors and select domestic consumption driven sectors such as FMCG, passenger vehicles, and two wheelers, Crisil said.  The Crisi

Great IPL Match at Chepauk

Most of the Indians are great fans of cricket and I am no exceptions. For all of us who have been watching Test and One day cricket all our life, IPL brought a refreshing feeling. All my life I had never watched a cricket match in a stadium. Now was a great chance to watch it with my friends in Chepauk. An IPL match between CSK and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Though Dhoni is not from Chennai every Chennai fan had whole heartedly accepted him as the local boy. He was already a national hero with the T20 world cup victory. Yellow was never my favourite colour. But this time I did not mind to part of the sea of yellow. Thankfully we got a stand on the beach side. So we has some breeze hitting us from behind. What a crowd it was. A sea of Yellow. Screaming, whistling, dancing, singing. It was total fun even before the match had started. Shivamani was there on the drums and once in a while that IPL music. What a match it was. Half way in the match. Our throats had g

Well why to buy cookies at premium price when you can make yummy and healthy cookie at home. All you need is some basic ingredients, a grill toaster and a beautiful Borosil glassware to serve. Take 2 cups of wheat flour, 1 cup of grated coconut, ½ cup of powdered sugar, 2 teaspoon of Vanilla essence, 1 cup of butter/oil, 4 table spoon of milk, 1 table spoon of Badam, Pista and Cashew.  Now Heat the coconut in a tawa till it turns to golden brown colour. My first trek to Sinhagad Fort

I am going back 9 year to write this article and it gives me great pleasure to recall all those wonderful memories. It was a Saturday morning in the month of August 2005 when I and friends decided to trek Sinhagad Fort. I moved to Pune from Chennai in 2004 and from the time since I joined my Job I was hearing about all the forts and trekking places in and around Pune. Well I could not control my curiosity more than a year. Finally, along with four of my friends we decided to go for a trek. We picked Sinhagad as it was considered as a relatively good trek for starters. We packed our bags with a couple of water bottles, biscuits and a towel. We went on three bikes. We started at 5 AM in the morning. We reached the foothills at 6:30 AM. Though not an ideal start for the trek we could not resist having hot vada pav before we start our trek. We started around 7 with a pleasant breeze and warm sun. We had a few groups going in front of us and following us as well. So ther
