Why I like Quikr.com

We all love to collect things which we like. When we are in a mall doing window shopping suddenly we would see a product which we think would add value to our home. So without thinking twice we buy it. There are two things which are involved here. A seller and a buyer. Till recently when we think of buying, it is always a new product. So, we go to a seller who sells new products. We never used to give a thought about used products or old products. Let us take an example of a sofa set. If I want to buy a new sofa set it would cost me around 12000 rupees for a decent sofa set. So I would go to a mall or a furniture show room to look for sofa sets within my budget. Let us imagine there is a person who wants to sell his furniture because he is migrating overseas. He has a one year sofa set which is in a very good condition. Two or three years back this person would have called a scraps dealer who buys old furniture and would have given away his furniture for a very cheap rate....

Why do we care so much about Pimples

Most of us are worried about pimples . I think pimples come due to hormonal changes in our body. If it is natural thing then why is one worried? I guess most of us fear that it might leave a mark on the face permanently. Whether it is a boy or a girl above 16 there is natural tendency to look attractive for the opposite gender. The basic thinking is that everyone wants to look at a clean and smooth face. If we have a pimple on the face then only that catches the eye first. Though true love should not be based on external appearance, we cannot neglect the fact that first appearance always leaves an impression. So a clean and beautiful face is what everyone wants. It is not only for love at first sight but also when people are having their most important day in life like engagement, marriages etc. These are photographs which you want to share in facebook and your mails. These are memories which you will relive many a times in the future. Whenever you are looking at these photog...

A healthy child makes a happy home

A family is complete when a child is born. It is the happiest moment for parents when they hold their baby in their hands for the first time. What gives more happiness to them is when they see their child growing up healthy. A new born means sleepless nights when you have get it to sleep and feed it. It adds to the pressure when the kid is not keeping well. When a child falls ill it is not only the child which suffers physically but also the parents who suffer physically and mentally. Nights are sleepless till the child gets well and is up and running. Parents can only have a sigh of relief when the child is back doing his normal activities. The moment your kid starts going to school or starts going out playing with kids, you need to be more careful about their health. They would want to perform at the same level as other kids. If they are not able to do so then they fell left behind. This puts a mental stress for the kids. To compete in sports and studies the child shoul...

Cricket Team India Fails Again in Australia

I am writing this as a frustrated Indian Cricket Fan once again. Though Cricket India has given me great things to Cherish like World Cup Victory, Sachin Tendulkar, the dashing Virendra Sehwag, the aggressive Virat Kohli but it fails me time to time with its overseas performance. Every tour we build a expectation in our mind that this set of players will do well in Australia this time. Whether people accept it or not the tour down under is the most important tour. Australia has been dominating Test Cricket for more than two decades now. Test Cricket is the real test of character. A 50 over game normally gets decided with one great innings or one great spell but a test match is decided session after session. This time also we believed the team under Dhoni/ Kohli combination can break those shackles but it wasn't to be. Some experts say that this is a good team only on paper. Well the stats say otherwise. These are some serious good players but major part of it has come in sub c...

Not so successful Trek to Nagalapuram Falls

Well I won't call this a successful trek but nevertheless it was a great experience. Four of us planned to go for a outing and finally came across this place Nagalapuram which is supposed to be a beautiful place with a lot of water pools and waterfall. Since we already did a Trek to Tada Falls we were quite confident that we could do this trek as well. We started at 5 AM in the morning from Chennai, picked one of our friends from Thiruvallur and proceeded towards Nagalapuram. We halted for our breakfast at Uthukottai and then proceeded towards Pichatur Dam and from there we went towards Arai Villag where we parked the car. We immediately asked a few locals and they directed us towards the trek. We came across a check dam and them we walked through lot of bushes towards the hill. After a few minutes we were unsure whether we were on the right track but then we saw one more villager and he told us we were are on the right track. Finally we saw a stream of water. We spent some ...

Journey from ‘OR’ to ‘AND’

“ This post is a part of  #UseYourAnd  activity at  BlogAdda  in association with  Gillette Venus “ Through all these years of growing up I have heard and read about great women. They were part of my history books, my newspaper reads, my discussions and my dreams. Rani Laxmi Bhai, Indira Gandhi, Mother Teresa, PT Usha, Kiran Bedi and so on. These women would inspire in one way or the other. They teach us so many things in life from standing for your country, rights to standing up for your passion. Recently one woman who added up to that list was Boxer Mary Kom. It is tough to imagine to woman fighting all odds like family background, educational priorities, and financial pressure to come out as such a successful boxer. It shows that apart from being physically strong you need to mentally strong as well. In a country where Cricket always takes the first bench and other sports are not given a great priority, to succeed and make people look up to you as spo...

Things that define me

This post is a part of  #UseYourAnd  activity at  BlogAdda  in association with  Gillette Venus “ It gives me great pleasure to write about my wife through this contest. She is the second best woman in my life after my mother. Ours was an arranged south Indian marriage and we got to know each other a lot only post marriage. At first look she appeared to be a silent girl hesitant to express her feelings and desires. But then she came into her stride. Her interest in cooking and designing her own clothes really inspired me. She used to tell me that she never used to cook before marriage. Since we were living alone in Pune she was pushed to cook in fact. But she turned that into her desire to become a good cook. She used to browse internet and would cook up some really amazing food. And it turns out that everyone in our family just love the way she cooks those north Indian authentic curries.  Coming to her dressing habit. She is really fond of dres...
